This is Aside Manga News for July 23^rd, 2026.

The mangaka Tatsuwaipu has announced via X earlier today that their series Make Heroine wo Katasetai!!, will discontinue its serialization effectively immediately in Akita Shoten’s Champion Cross. The latest chapter, 26, was published today, and is available for free reading in Japan. Additionally the print volume editions will no longer be printed, which only 2 volumes have been published so far.

The series will move to being published by No. 9 starting in January 2027. No. 9 primarily is a self-publishing platform through their Digital Distribution Service which can automatically publish chapters or eBooks to over 130 different digital storefronts in Japan. For popular titles, they can also work on coordinating store promotions as well as printed book releases, merchandise, and other adaptations.

The reason for this shift away from Akita Shoten appears to be related to the poor communication between the mangaka and the Editorial staff. One example of this poor communication was based around the volume sales. The original editor had indicated that the sales from the first volume were strong enough that the series would continue past the 5^th volume. However with further issues related to the editor, followed by a editor change, the problems were not being resolved. The sales numbers for the 2^nd volume, released in April, were not as strong, as well as the 1^st volumes sales numbers were lower than previously reported. This was now putting the series at risk for cancellation, but the mangaka did not have any plans for ending the series early. With these continued issues, the notice of the serialization being discontinued was published with coordination with their current editor.

In addition to Make Heroine wo Katasetai!!, Tatsuwaipu’s other manga series published by Akita Shoten, Tamamori’s Fantasies Never Stop! will also stop publication in Japan. The series is currently being published by Seven Seas in English, with 4 of the 9 volume available in print editions. As this is still developing news, it’s unclear what will happen with those upcoming English releases for Tamamori’s Fantasies Never Stop!. There may be a delay for those English volume releases until 2027 once the mangaka moves to No. 9 as their publisher.
