This is Aside Manga News for June 27th, 2026.
The Omoi digital manga service has started their exclusive English release of A Snow Fox at the Northern Fort. The first 2 chapters are available for free reading and new chapters will be added weekly as part of their paid “all-you-can-read” service called Omoi Premium. Chapter 3 will be available on the service on July 2nd.
The story is based around an ordinary woman who has been reincarnated as a small fox spirit in a snowy foreign region. As she has been temporarily left by her guardian, she wanders into a fort and encounters a scarred knight. This heartfelt story then leads to her interactions among the humans at this fort.
The story was originally written by Tsukasa Mikuni as a web novel, which then later received a light novel release with the character designs by Sochu. These light novels were then repackaged into a new 3-volume edition containing the story up to that point. Starting in September 2020, Tawa Akeno launched the manga edition of this story in the digital Gaugau Monster magazine. Currently 10 volumes of the manga have released in Japan, spanning 50 chapters. With weekly English releases by Omoi, this series will likely run until it catches up with the on-going Japanese release a year from now.
The Omoi Premium service has a 14 day free trial and is available for $4.99 monthly, or $49.99 yearly membership. This includes reading access to their large library of titles from various publishers.
